A little bit of history on Golden Ridge mobile farmyards and why we consider ourselves the biggest and the best in NSW if not Australia!

HISTORY

In 1987 a lady with 3 small children by the name of Elke Nye started a small business in the backyard of her Pagewood home.

This small business was a mobile farmyard, Elke towed her bright yellow trailer behind her brown Kingswood and travelled to pre-schools and schools teaching children about farm animals and what products they give us.

This small business grew and grew and this is when they sold their Pagewood home and moved the family to a beautiful property called Golden Ridge Animal Farm at Dural. This property became the base of what was and still is Golden Ridge Animal Farm. It is still owned by the Nye family however Elke passed away in 1999 after a battle with cancer and the farm was taken over then by her 15 year old daughter Alisa (thats me!) who to this day I still run the farm.... with a little help!

WHAT MAKES US THE BIGGEST AND BEST?

It was always mums (Elkes) dream to do the biggest mobile animal farm possible, this did happen for her at the Sydney Pet and Animal expo but she knew we could do bigger! After Elke passed away we were given the opportunity that we had been waiting for. In 2008 we took Elkes ideas and put it in action, We came up with a concept, designed and operated a HUGE mobile farmyard for the Royal Easter Show of NSW. For 2 weeks straight we created a mobile farm that housed over 150 farm animals, Big and small from mice and chicks hatching, ducklings sliding to cows, donkeys, alpacas and everything in between! This display had adapted and changed for 11 years straight. 

After we ran that display so successfully we were also approached by the RAS of VIC to create an amazing farmyard experience for their annual show- which we do, We transport our hand raised animals, our staff and everything else in between and for 4 weeks we set up and run a very successful display.

Other than this we have 6+ teams of mobile staff and animals. Our animals are hand raised at our farm at Dural. Our animals have contact with people everyday, We rotate them so that they do not get over used and have periods of rest at the farm.

We are fully insured with 20 million public liability.

We are fully licenced with the DPI and have approval from the RSPCA.

We are also happy to do onsite inductions.
